Andras Ernszt

Andras Ernszt

Painter András Ernszt was born in 1973 in Nagyzkanizsa, Hungary. From 1992 to 1997, the artist was a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Janus Pannonius University in Pécs, as a protege of professor Lászlo Valko. Since 1994, he has been a member of the Z´-ART Kör society in Nagykanizsa, a member of the Budapest Young Artists Studio, and, since 1996, a member of the Pécs Artists Society. From 1999 to 2002, András Ernszt has continued his education at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, and from 1999 to 2002 at the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts in Pécs, where he also obtained hid PhD degree under the mentorship of professor Ilona Keseru. The artist has been exhibiting his work at group exhibitions since 1996, and has, since 1997, held more than ten solo exhibitions in Hungary, receiving numerous awards and prizes for his work.

The painter’s subtle language of art is based on the elements of modernism and postmodernism and, in abstract sense, of extremely bright and light layers of colour which are revealing the painter’s searching of his inner-self. The paintings glow in harmonious display of colours which reveal the artist’s ventures into the world of his thoughts, dreams, hopes, and desires.
