Franc Golob

Franc Golob

Painter Franc Golob was born in 1941 in Celje, Slovenia. In Ljubljana, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from which he graduated in 1970 under the mentorship of professor Marij Pregelj and professor Maksim Sedej. For many years, Franc Golob was employed as an art teacher at the Nova Gorica High School for the Arts and is now retired.
Franc Golob held numerous solo exhibitions and exhibited his work in many group exhibitions. During the last few years, he has attended various art camps (the Vogrsko castle, Abitanti, etc.).
The artist lives and works in Osek.
Franc Golob’s artistic path is directed towards a man’s inner problems, which are, in today’s world, invoked by a mass of visual communications, which change the yesterday’s aesthetic values into a new kind of sensibility, yet questions of the role played by colour and shape still remain topical. That is the reason why the artist’s works offer a sense of re-experience and are always caught between the new and the traditional.
