Rok Bogataj

Sculptor Rok Bogataj was born 8 April, 1974 in Ljubljana. In the academic year of 1996/97 he entered the Accademio di Belle Arti in Venice, where he graduated in 2002 at the department of professor Gaetano Mainenti.
Since 1997, Rok Bogataj has exhibited at group exhibitions held in Italy, Japan, and Croatia, among other places also in Venice, Tokio (Pias Gallery), Trieste (Studio Tomasseo), Zagreb, Momjan (exhibition at the “Visura Aperta Momiano 2004, a festival of visual and audio media), and Ljubljana (Hest 35). In 2004, Rok Bogataj held a solo exhibition of his work entitled “Fontana” at the Art Studio Tomasseo. The artist lives in Ljubljana and Trieste.
Rok Bogataj’s creative path is directed towards painting and sculpturing, being mostly involved in video art and graphic design. The artist’s message is embedded inside a purified narration which exploits the full extensiveness of multimedia language yet, at the same time, preserves elements of aesthetic and eventful searching.
